World Cup 2019: In the 44th match of the 12th season of Cricket World Cup, India and Sri Lanka were face to face. In Leeds, both teams played in their last match of the Group Stage. With the help of Rohit and Rahul’s century in the match, India defeated Sri Lanka in a one-sided match.
On one side where the Sri Lankan team’s World Cup triumph was over, Team India, on the other hand, got ready for the semi-finals. Among all the records in the match, Captain Virat Kohli also made a special achievement.
Virat Kohli has become the third Indian player to score 1000 runs in World Cup history. Before them, this was in the name of Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly.
Apart from this, Virat scored an unbeaten innings of 34 runs in 41 balls, with Mark Butcher, Sourav Ganguly and Vivian Richards in the top score in the World Cup.
Virat Kohli now has 1029 runs in 25 innings, while Sourav Ganguly has 1006 runs in 21 innings. In the case of the highest run in the World Cup, Sachin Tendulkar is still at the forefront. Sachin has scored 2278 runs in 44 innings.
