Cricket is among the world’s most contentious sports. It brings together countries, teams, players, officials, fans and bettors of all kinds. The 2022 New Zealand national cricket team is visiting England this June to play three Test matches as part of the ICC World Test Championship Series 2021–2023.

Jonny Bairstow smashed the second quickest Test century for England, blasting 14 boundaries and seven massive sixes in his 92-ball with 136 runs at Trent Bridge in Nottingham. On the final day of the second Test against New Zealand, England needed to meet their fourth-innings goal of at least 299 runs in just over two sessions, which resulted in one of the most dramatic Test finishes in modern history.
Given England’s recent cautious attitude in International Test cricket, nobody anticipated them pushing for the victory, even if they led the series 1-0. However, this is the first England Test squad captained by Stokes, and New Zealand supervised by the head coach McCullum. If we look at what cricket fans had seen of Ben Stokes on the field and McCullum while captain of the New Zealand Blackcaps side, these are definitely two individuals who believe in facing every challenge without fear and playing at their absolute best.
This is exactly what the English side did. Despite losing three wickets early in the game, the players made a strong post-launch charge at the target. Jonny Bairstow is shown as the star of the show with his outstanding performance on the field. Skipper Stokes was not to be outdone, as he added the icing to the cake by remaining undefeated on 75 runs from 70 balls to lead the squad to a series-clinching victory.
