Australia and England are set to play Ashes 2019, starting from August 1st till September 16th. Players are looking for a call to play for their country in this big series.
Australian batsman Shaun Marsh believes that he can end his Test career due to not getting a place in the Test team because of new players.
35 years old Marsh was dropped from the Test team after the series against India. After this he was not even included in the series against Sri Lanka.
“This possibility is very rare now because the players have done fantastic against Sri Lanka,” The Career Mail quoted Marsh as saying. “I also made the place in the team. After the good show in the Ashes series, they gave me opportunities for more than a year.”
Marsh said, “Unfortunately, it did not work for me. But whoever played for the team, they did well and they are entitled to make the place in the Ashes Series 2019.”
Marsh has played only 37 Test matches since 2011, in which he has scored six hundreds, while he has been out at zero on 10 occasions.
Marsh said, “I could not maintain consistency in my performance, which is a key of a good player. I am proud of what I have achieved so far. I played Test matches for my country and won some great series too.”
Australia who have been knocked out of the World Cup by England, are set to play 5 Test matches against England from August as part of the Ashes 2019 series.
