Team India has begun preparations for change now, failed to win the World Cup 2019 title. BCCI has again started searching for new coach for Team India. In addition to the main coach, applications for the post of batting coach, bowling coach, fielding coach, physiotherapist, strength and conditioning coach and administrative manager have been applied.
Application Due Date
The BCCI has said that interested applicants can submit their application before July 30, 2019, at five o’clock in the evening. However, the current coaching staff of Team India will be deemed to be automatically included in this recruitment process.
It is believed that Ravi Shastri, the head coach of the team can be removed from the post after the departure of the Indian team from the semifinals.
Ravi Shastri’s tenure with Team India was only till the World Cup 2019, but the board has extended it to the West Indies tour.
While the bowling coach Bharat Arun, batting coach Sanjay Bangar and fielding coach R Sridhar, who have been included in the coaching staff, have also been extended with the Indian team.
For the West Indies tour to be held from August 3 to September 3, all of them have been extended for 45 days after the World Cup. After this Team India is likely to get new support staff.
The Indian team could not make any big tournament with Ravi Shastri’s coach, but the team made history by winning the Test Series for the first time in Australia earlier this year.
The BCCI has sought applications for these posts on its website. Apart from the support staff, new applications will also be invited for manager posts.
Former Tamil Nadu captain Sunil Subramaniam was appointed as a team manager in 2017 for one year contract, but later his term was extended.
With team India, it is decided to connect new physio and trainers. After World Cup, the term of Patrick Farhat and Shankar Basu ended with the team. Both of them have contributed immensely to the success of Team India and have played an important role in keeping players fit.
