World Cup 2019: The 12th season of Cricket World Cup has now reached the semi-finals. All the teams have played almost every match of their quota. For the semi-finals three teams out of four (India, Australia and England) have also been decided. As a fourth team, only one team from New Zealand and Pakistan will reach the semi-finals.
However, considering the current situation, New Zealand is almost certain to reach the semi-finals, because Pakistan has a goal that is unlikely.
In fact, Pakistan now has nine points from 8 matches and 11 points from nine matches for New Zealand. At the same time, Pakistan has yet to play another match of its quota with Bangladesh, and if Pakistan wins the match, then it will also be 11 points, after which the points of both Pakistan and New Zealand will be equal.
In that case the run rates of both the teams will be seen and after that one team will qualify for the semi-finals.
New Zealand’s run rate is far better than Pakistan and if Pakistan wants to reach the semifinals, then they have to meet many conditions against Bangladesh.
One of those conditions is also a condition in which toss will play an important role. Toss will decide if Pakistan will have any chance to qualify. The matter is that Pakistan must bat first by winning the toss. If Pakistan lose the toss here and Bangladesh decides to bat first, then all the ways to reach semi-finals for Pakistan will be closed.
