Bursting half-hundreds of years by Luke Ronchi and Colin Munro designed an agreeable eight-wicket win for Islamabad United over Multan Sultans in the fifth HBL PSL 2020 apparatus at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on Saturday.
The openers sewed a 92-run association in 9.5 overs which saw Untied pursue down the 165-run focus in 16.4 overs.
Luke Ronchi crushed nine fours and two sixes in his 45-ball 74, while Munro, who struck three fours and four sixes, made 50 runs from 32 ball.
Dawid Malan was the other eminent run getter. The left-gave batsman was unbeaten on 35 from 21 balls.
Prior, all-rounder Amad Butt featured with the ball for United and returned four for 27 after Shadab Khan, the United commander, chose for field first.
Zeeshan Ashraf made 50 off 29 balls, in which he hit four fours and three sixes. Opener James Vince made 42 off 31, hitting six fours and a six, and created a 41-run opening stand with commander Shan Masood (21 off 20).
Faheem Ashraf took two wickets for 34 runs, while Mohammad Musa and Akif Javed got a wicket each.
On Sunday, Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators go head to head at the National Stadium, Karachi, at 2pm and Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United lock horns at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.
