After a break of over a month from worldwide cricket, Bangladesh make a beeline for New Zealand to play three ODIs and three Tests. Despite the fact that they are yet to enlist a triumph crosswise over organizations against New Zealand in New Zealand, Bangladesh mentor Steve Rhodes is certain that they can offer some kind of reparation for their skewed record this time around.
Rhodes – alongside group administrator Khaled Mashud and eight cricketers – was among the primary cluster from the Bangladesh set-up to take the trip to New Zealand on Wednesday (February 6). Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah, Mustafizur Rahman, Mehidy Hasan, Soumya Sarkar, Sabbir Rahman, Nayeem Hasan and Liton Das were the players who were on the New Zealand-bound flight while the rest are relied upon to join the group following the finish of the progressing Bangladesh Premier League.
Addressing journalists in front of the flight, Rhodes said the group will take certainty from their 2018 record in ODIs, where they won 13 out of 20 matches. “We are exceptionally content with the exhibitions of the players as of late. We are hoping to do well in the ODI arrange on the grounds that that is something we pride ourselves on thus we will do our absolute best in the ODIs.
“To the extent Test matches are concerned, troublesome,” included Rhodes, who still communicated any desire for his group testing the hosts. “Again we are smidgen better prepared now to play far from home. Ideally we can create some outcome in the Test matches.”
With a large portion of the groups occupied in their arrangements for the World Cup, Rhodes trusts that the arrangement in New Zealand will give Bangladesh a decent open door regarding evaluating the squad.
“It [the voyage through New Zealand] will give us a sign of where we are in world cricket, regardless of whether we are on focus to the World Cup. You know Ireland and the West Indies (a tri-country in May) will be nearer to the competition thus that will be the last completing contacts for the World Cup.
“I trust we win a few recreations. I will be incredible for us to win a few rounds of cricket there however it is difficult as it was demonstrated amid the last time,” said Rhodes, considering the decisive victory by New Zealand crosswise over arrangements in 2016-17 when Bangladesh last visited the nation. “We are exceptionally content with the players and we plan to accomplish our objectives in the up and coming visit.”
