Former Team India captain Sourav Ganguly has announced his agenda as the 39th president of the BCCI. After taking over as BCCI President in Mumbai, Sourav Ganguly called it a great honor. He also revealed his plan to bring more players like Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane in Indian cricket forward. Ganguly said that for this work, a lot of work needs to be done at the level of domestic cricket. He also talked about meeting Indian captain Virat Kohli on Thursday on many important issues related to Team India.
Sourav Ganguly, speaking to reporters for the first time after becoming the BCCI President, said that there would be no compromise with the credibility of the board and there would be corruption-free functioning. I did the same thing while leading Team India and I will also lead the BCCI. Sourav Ganguly has also said to call the BCCI’s AGM in the next three weeks.
Big statement on Dhoni … On the question asked about the future of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Sourav Ganguly said that when you sit and think what he has done, it will come out of your mouth. Fabulous. We have come here to simplify the lives of the players, not to make them difficult. I have not spoken to Dhoni yet. I will talk to that great man in future. It all depends on Dhoni’s return. I do not know what is going on in his mind. The career of champions does not end so soon. The decision will be made based on the performance of the players. There will also be scope for mutual respect, opinion and discussion. As long as I am here, all cricketers will be treated with respect.
About Virat Kohli- Virat Kohli is the captain of Indian cricket and is the most important person. I will meet him on Thursday and talk about important issues. He also said that I do not think that there has ever been any communication gap between the players and the board.
Regarding different captain in different format- Sourav Ganguly said that these questions should be asked to the selectors. It is not good to change too much in the team. Many times people get confused by this. The important thing is the quality of the cricket being played. I don’t think there is much difference in changing the format.
About conducting the Test match on five Centers- After the series win against South Africa, captain Virat Kohli said that Test matches should be held at five centers in the country. On this issue, Sourav Ganguly said that we play a lot of Test cricket and we have many grounds. We will sit with Virat Kohli and know from him what he wants in this case. Domestic cricket matches have doubled in the last few years. We must ensure that the best tournament in the country remains competitive. First of all, we have to make sure to take care of Ranji cricketers.
On conflict of interest: On the issue of conflict of interest prevalent in Indian cricket at present, Sourav Ganguly said that I do not know when it will be resolved. We have to set up a cricket advisory committee for this. He also said that in five years, the BCCI was to receive $ 372 million from the ICC. We will ensure that we get this amount.
