Marcus Stoinis the Australian all-rounder has been ruled out of the World Cup match against Pakistan tomorrow. Mitchell Marsh to replace him for only the Pakistan match, Marcus Stoinis is not out of the entire World Cup.
Before further call being made, his fitness will be tested by Cricket Australia. As per the ICC rules a player ruled out of the World Cup can’t be added back into the squad.
Australia captain Aaron Finch said that he(Stoinis) has some discomfort. “And it wasn’t ideal, but he managed to bowl a few overs”
Mitchell Marsh played his last ODI match in January 2018 and he supposed to be in England for a tour later.
“Not exactly sure, how many games Stoinis will miss so we had to call Mitchell Marsh to England. It’s still being assessed and more update will be out in upcoming weeks. Marsh was supposed to fly to England to play for Australia A but he is just coming few earlier. If Stoinis didn’t get fit in time upcoming weeks, we will have to go with Mitchell Marsh” Aaron Finch said.
Earlier he lost his position in Australian team due to his poor performance and poor forms in recent few matches. He was even dropped from Australia’s list of contracted player for the 2019-2020 season.
