Colombo, Jul 28 (PTI) The debut Lanka Premier League T20 competition will commence on August 28, the Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) said.
The board gave its endorsement to the competition during its official council meeting on Monday. Five groups will go after the title more than 23 games.
‘Sri Lanka Cricket Executive Committee at the gathering held today (27th July) conceded endorsement to direct the debut Lanka Premier League T20 Tournament from 28th August to twentieth September 2020,’ SLC said in an announcement. The competition will be played on the ‘four global settings of R Premadasa International Cricket Stadium, Rangiri Dambulu International Cricket Stadium, Pallekele International Cricket Stadium and Suriyawewa Mahinda Rajapakse International Cricket Stadium.’

‘5 Teams named after the urban communities of Colombo, Kandy, Galle, Dambulla and Jaffna will take part in the League.’ The Board said that ‘more than 70 International players and 10 first rate mentors have just affirmed their accessibility for the competition alongside driving Sri Lankan national players.’ In the competition, each establishment will be permitted to pick a limit of six outside players in the crew with just four in the last eleven.
The Board will come out with a calendar for the competition later and said ‘the offering for the occasion’s Title Holder is because of close on July 30th’.
