After the World Cup, Team India will play their first series against the West Indies on their ground. The selectors for the tour announced the team on Sunday. The Indian team has to play T20, ODI and Test series on this tour. The selection committee headed by MSK Prasad has included some young faces in the team for this tour. Virat Kohli will take charge of the team on this tour.
Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan will the openers of the team in ODIs on the West Indies tour. Mayank Agarwal also has been selected in the Test team. Rohit-Dhawan will start the ODI and T20 innings, Rahul will be seen batting on number four. Rahul and Mayank Agarwal can open the innings in Tests.
Youngsters like Manish Pandey and Shreyas Iyer to take control of the middle order in ODI. At the same time, in T20, the responsibility of the middle order will be on the shoulders of these players once again. Kedar Jadhav is also included in the team. In the Test, Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane and Hanuma Vihari will strengthen the middle-order with captain Kohli.
Jaspreet Bumrah and Mohammed Shami, who have been superb bowling in the World Cup, have been rested. Young Khalil Ahmed and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar have joined their place in T20.
In ODIs, Shami will return and take charge of bowling attack. Kuldeep Yadav as the spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal has been given the opportunity. In the T20, Washington Sunder, Rahul Chahar will take over the spin. All the main bowlers will be present in the Test series. Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami, Jaspreet Bumrah and Umesh Yadav are all experienced players. Spin bowler R Ashwin has returned to the team. Kuldeep Yadav is included in the Test team.
All-rounder: Ravindra Jadeja and Kunal Pandya have got a chance in T20. Because of injury, Hardik Pandya out of the whole tour.
Wicketkeeping will be on the shoulders of Rishabh Pant in ODI. Wriddhiman Saha has got an opportunity in Test matches.
