The first match of the Zimbabwe tour of Netherland ends in the hosts registering a win by 7 wickets. Max ODowd’s knock of 82 runs made it easy for Netherland to chase down target of 206 runs.
Zimbabwe captain Hamilton Masakadza won the toss and decided to bat first against the host. Both the openers failed to score big runs as Masakadza got out for 7 runs while Solomon Mire gave away his wicket to Fred Klaassen for just only 4 runs.
Wicketkeeper batsman Brendon Taylor was the highest run getter for Zimbabwe who scored 71 runs of 85 balls, his innings included 7 fours and 2 sixes, but at the end he gave away his wicket to Seelaar.
Netherland started of brilliant, Tobias Visee scored 28 runs of 23 balls, but their lead run scorer was his opening partner Max ODowd, he scored an unbeaten 82 runs of 118 balls with 9 fours in his inning.
Ben Cooper and Barresi scored 35 and 39 runs respectively. Sean Williams was the pick of the bowler, he registered 2 wickets in his name.
After this win Netherland is into the lead of the ODI series of 2 matches by 1-0. Second ODI match of the series will be held at Sportpark Het Schootsveld, Deventer on 21st June 2:30 Indian Standard Time.
