Introduction :
ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 the biggest cricketing event of the year is set to take place in England and Wales from 30th May to 14th July. This is the 12th edition of the event, International Cricket Council(ICC)has officially announced the full schedule of the event.
The biggest extravaganza will take place around 12 stadiums in England and Wales as host England will square off against the mighty South Africa in the opening contest of the event on 30th of May in London.
Total Teams :
Total teams have been reduced from 14 to 10. India, Pakistan, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and the host England entered the event directly on the basis of ODI ranking on 30th September 2017, while Afghanistan and West Indies had to take part in the World Cup qualifier in the month of March 2018.

When it comes to ICC ODI World Cup Australia is the most dominant team who have won the title 5 times, most by any team, this includes three consecutive win between 1999 to 2007.
West Indies is the 1st team to win the Cricket World Cup in the year 1975 they went on to win another one in the 1979.
India won the title twice 1st in the year 1983 in leadership of Kapil Dev and in 2011 in their home soil in the leadership of Ms Dhoni.
Pakistan and Sri Lanka are the other 2 teams who have won the event in 1992 and 1995 respectively. England has lost the finals three time, the most by any team.
Favourite To Win :
This years World Cup will be played in England and Wales which means England have to home advantage to win the event, they have never won the event but now they have the opportunity.
2nd favourite are the five time champions Australia, they are a pretty solid team heading towards the World Cup, after England, Australia have played the most number of matches in England so they do have a slight advantage.
3rd favourite are the Indian team, they are in tremendous form and this year the team will be lead by Virat Kohli which will be his 1st World Cup as a captain, they have a very good experience of playing in Englands pitch condition so they also have a slight advantage of it.
The biggest cricketing event will begin on May 30 but from May 24 all the teams are scheduled to play mandatory two warm-up matches.
