Andre Russell has been incorporated into the Windies squad for the last two ODIs against England, it was reported on Monday (February 25). Kemar Roach, who has been battling with back damage, has been pulled back from the arrangement.
“Kemar Roach must be pulled back from the ODI arrangement because of damage and will be supplanted in the squad by the accomplished Andre Russell for the last two matches. We trust Russell will increase the value of the squad,” Courtney Browne, Chairman of CWI Selection Panel, said.
“We are very much aware that despite the fact that Andre’s bowling might be constrained because of a knee issue, his gigantic batting capacity to control the ball in the back end of the amusement will be a resource for the group. The board accept this open door to wish skipper Jason Holder and his group all the best for the rest of matches in the arrangement.”
Subsequent to being lowered in the first ODI, Windies made a wonderful rebound to win the second challenge in Barbados. Russell has been carrying out his specialty in different T20 Leagues and last played for Windies in a T20I against Bangladesh in August 2018.
The fourth ODI will be played in Grenada on February 27 preceding the last match in St Lucia on March 2. The two groups will at that point go up against one another in a three-coordinate T20I arrangement from March 5.
