Star spinner Rashid Khan will skipper Afghanistan in the irregular Test against Bangladesh other than the T20 tri-arrangement additionally including Zimbabwe, the nation’s cricket board reported on Tuesday.
Rashid Khan was named Afghanistan captain following the group’s winless crusade at the World Cup a month ago. Gulbadin Naib had captained the group in the World Cup.
Boss selector Andy Moles, who was joined by individual from choice advisory group Mujahid Zadran, declared both the squads at the Aghanistan Cricket Board central station here.
The Test squad will leave to Abu Dhabi on Wednesday for a preparation camp before making a trip to Bangladesh on August 30 to play the erratic match against the hosts from September 5-9.
In the triangular arrangement, Afghanistan are booked to play their first match on September 14 against Zimbabwe, second against Bangladesh on September 15, third against Zimbabwe on September 20 and fourth against Bangladesh on September 21. The last will be hung on September 24.
