NZ Team News
Opening bowler Trent Boult is back with the squad for the fourth T20i, after being left out for the first three games to rest and focus on first-class domestic commitments. Lockie Ferguson is the man to make way. Blair Tickner replaced Daryl Mitchell last time out, meanwhile, and could keep his place after bowling well.
NZ Key Players
Martin Guptill: Has taken a particular liking to Saqib Mahmood, with two big-hitting innings at the top of the order to set the tone in each of the last two matches.
Colin de Grandhomme: After hitting 28 from 12 balls in the second game, he scored 55 from 35 balls last time out – his third T20i half-century. In T20 cricket, he boasts a phenomenal strike-rate of 162.34 and can be a useful extra bowling option if called upon too.
Trent Boult: Back in the squad and will lead the bowling attack after taking 37 wickets in 25 T20i matches so far.
ENG Team News
Chris Jordan, Adil Rashid and Jonny Bairstow made way last time out, as Tom Curran returned and Matt Parkinson and Tom Banton made their T20i debuts. Jordan could come in for Saqib Mahmood this time, however, while Bairstow may be selected behind the stumps ahead of Sam Billings. There are plenty of options for rotation still.
ENG Key Players
Chris Jordan: Five wickets in the first two matches of this series, and then 36 runs from 19 balls, have ensured the fast-bowling all-rounder has answered the questions that hung over him ahead of this series.
James Vince: Out just one run short of his 34rd T20 half-century in the last game, having opened the tournament with his 33rd (and first for England). His 49 last time out came from 39 balls.
Eoin Morgan: Hit two sixes as he fell for 18 last time out but he now has 84 runs from 51 balls so far in this series to continue his excellent T20 batting form.
New Zealand vs England Prediction
England need a win to keep this series alive but they have not been far off in the last two matches – just a couple of key moments going New Zealand’s way. England can upset the odds and tie the series up with a game to spare.
