Presentation Time ....
West Indies, on the other hand once again looked lackluster with their performance. The absence of Cornwall for the whole of Day 2 and the first session of Day 3 hurt them a lot as things could have been a bit different. Joseph worked really hard to get the massive wicket of debutant Jaiswal and Cornwall removed Kohli just as when he was looking to change gears. The visitors were asked to bat with a trail of 271 runs but their misery continued. Their batters didn't really have any answers to the deadly spin duo of Jaddu and Ashwin. Only Alick Athanze looked a bit secured for his 28 otherwise it is a sorry-looking scorecard for the Windies as they faced a massive defeat.
Losing the toss and bowling first turned out to be a blessing in disguise for India. Rohit Sharma quickly realised that it will be spin to win in this game and he introduced Ashwin early on. Once again he delivered as well with an excellent five-wicket haul while Jadeja picked three to bowl the hosts for 150.  Then came the young Yashasvi Jaiswal along with skipper Rohit Sharma to open for India and they played out till stumps on Day 1 almost cutting the deficit in half. India dominated proceedings on Day 2 as well with Rohit bringing up his 10th Test ton and Jaiswal scoring a brilliant century on debut. The visitors did lose their skipper but Kohli and Jaiswal played till the end of the Day with the youngster scoring runs freely.
India were already in a commanding position when they came out to bat on Day 3 and Yashasvi Jaiswal didn't take much time to mark his debut with another landmark as he crossed the 150-run mark. However, he was dismissed just after that and was disappointed as there was a double century on offer for him. Virat Kohli on the other end struggled and was given a couple of lives too as he registered a fifty as well. Ajinkya Rahane failed to grab this big opportunity as Ravindra Jadeja and Kohli built up a good stand which took them into the second session where the latter got out but the former scored at a good rate. Rohit Sharma decided to declare just as Ishan Kishan scored his first Test run and with the wicket turning a lot, he was aware that the lead was suffecient. It turned out to be a great decision as Ashwin and Jadeja both struck before Tea and in the third session, they replicated their effort. Ashwin ended up with a seven-wicket haul taking his tally to 12 in the match and Windies never really had a chance in this game.
INDIA WIN BY AN INNINGS AND 141 RUNS! Absolute domination from them to start the new WTC cycle! Ravichandran Ashwin registers his best figures overseas on his return to Test cricket while it was Yashasvi Jaiswal who took the limelight for his brilliant hundred on debut. West Indies will be really disappointed and it is a tough phase going on for Windies cricket. They will hope to come back in the next Test as India go 1-0 up.
