Presentation coming up...
Earlier in the game, Oval Invincibles Women registered the highest team total in the Women's Hundred at the Oval, courtesy of a quickfire half-century from Nadine de Klerk. Alice Capsey and Cordelia Griffith played their cameos well but the rest of the batters struggled a bit. Kirstie Gordon picked up two wickets for Trent Rockets Women and was certainly the pick of the bowlers.
The match reached its crescendo on the final ball, where The Trent Rockets needed 5 runs. Despite an exceptional bowling and fielding performance by The Oval Invincible Women, the Trent Rockets narrowly missed victory following a batting collapse. Ultimately, losing 8 wickets to accumulate 152 runs, The Trent Rockets concluded the contest with a heart-wrenching 3-run loss.
The thrilling game of The Hundred Women’s Competition culminated with The Oval Invincibles securing a nail-biting victory by a mere 3 runs. Trent Rockets commenced their innings on a steady note, losing 2 wickets within the powerplay. The partnership between Nat Sciver-Brunt and Lizelle Lee, amassing 63 runs, injected momentum. Nat Sciver-Brunt departed after contributing 21 off 17 balls, followed by Lizelle Lee's brilliant 61 off 33 balls, embellished with 6 boundaries and 3 towering sixes, which proved pivotal for The Oval Invincibles. Subsequently, no batter managed to breach the 10-run mark until Alexa Stonehouse's spirited display of three consecutive boundaries, edged the match tantalizingly close for her side.
What an end to this humdinger of a game which was certainly a dead rubber. It just couldn't get any better! The game went down to the wire and it was Oval Invincibles Women who came out on top in the final moments. Katherine Brunt has a smile on her face as everyone around her hugs her.

OUT! TAKEN! Nadine de Klerk strikes now! A good cameo from Naomi Dattani comes to an end and that is probably the last nail in the coffin for Trent Rockets Women. This on a good length and around middle, Naomi Dattani stays there and tries to heave it across the line but unfortunately finds Paige Scholfield at deep mid-wicket who makes no mistake. Trent Rockets Women eight down now!
