Man of the Match
Ruturaj Gaikwad

Right then, that is it from this one-sided affair. However, the action in the Indian T20 League continues on 29th April, Monday. It will be Kolkata taking on Delhi in a crunch clash. That match will begin at 7.30 pm IST (2 pm GMT), but as you know, you can always join us early for all the build-up to the game. Until then, cheers and goodbye!
Ruturaj Gaikwad, the victorious skipper of Chennai is also the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his incredible knock. He says that playing in such wet conditions is really hard but this was a clinical performance. Adds that it was really hot and humid there and he was never thinking about his hundred. Tells that in the previous game, they gave away a few loose balls but they executed well in this game. Praise Tushar Deshpande for his effort and says that it was important to pick up wickets in the Powerplay. Ends by saying that he is not that vocal as there are a lot of experienced players in the dressing room and he takes a back seat.
Pat Cummins, the captain of Hyderabad says they thought bowling first was the best chance to win here but that wasn't the case in the end. Adds that the target was within reach considering the kind of explosive batters they have in the line up. Also says that nothing went right for them but also says that can't blame the line up because they have won them games at somepoint this year. Adds it was dewy and they thought it would give them a better chance in the second innings but the dew came in early. Ends up by saying that games come thick and fast in this tournamnet and they need to move on quickly and come back strongly.
Presentation Time...
Tushar Deshpande who picked up a fine 4-fer is up for a chat. He says that it was all about bowling and having patience against an aggressive batting lineup as strong as Hyderabad. Says that bowling length in the Powerplay is very crucial. Tells that the mindset is to keep hitting the same area despite being hit. Informs that the ground was soaking the dew and a couple of balls swung too. Says that they used the pitch conditions well and had a specific plan that even after getting hit they will stick to bowl on the good length area.
Earlier in the game, Chennai posted a good total on the board courtesy of an excellent knock of 98 from their skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad and a fine fifty from Daryl Mitchell along with a quick-fire cameo from Dube towards the end. T Natarajan, Jaydev Unadkat, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar chipped in with wicket each for Hyderabad. While chasing, Hyderabad once again suffered a collapse in the Powerplay as well as in the middle overs and faced a big loss.
Chennai, on the other hand, were excellent with the ball early on. Tushar Deshpande was a bit expensive in his first over but ended up getting rid of Travis Head and added another to his tally as well. In his next over, he dismissed Abhishek Sharma to gain control of the game. Deepak Chahar also bowled economically which added more pressure on the batters. Then Ravindra Jadeja came in and bowled a brilliant spell picking up a wicket as well. After that, Matheesha Pathirana showed his death bowling skills and got both Aiden Markram and Heinrich Klaasen to crash the hopes of Hyderabad. Shardul Thakur also got into the action and ended up with one. Deshpande ended up with an exceptional four-fer while Matheesha Pathirana got a couple of as well. Daryl Mitchell incredibly grabbed five catches in this game.
Hyderabad once again failed to utilise the Powerplay as both Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma went back after hitting a few lusty blows. They tried Anmolpreet Singh as the Impact Player but he too was dismissed for a golden duck. They needed a partnership and Aiden Markram along with Nitish Kumar Reddy steadied the ship for a while but not for long. No batter could really get going in the middle overs and succumbed under the pressure of the asking rate. They ended up being bowled out in the 19th over and fell short by a huge margin of 78 runs.
CLINICAL VICTORY FOR CHENNAI! They have been on top of their game in all three departments in this game and continue their unbeaten streak over Hyderabad at home. Pat Cummins and Co. have now lost two on the bounce while chasing and will need to go back to the drawing board to tweak a few things for their upcoming games.

OUT! TAKEN! Done and dusted! Chennai dominate Hyderabad once again at Chepauk and win by a daunting margin of 78 runs. Mustafizur Rahman comes from around the wicket and lands it fuller in length, angling in on off, Jaydev Unadkat clears his front foot to go over covers but doesn't time it at all and finds Moeen Ali in the way at covers who bends low and takes the catch a few centimeters above the ground. Hyderabad has been bowled out for the first time this year and Chennai has taken all ten wickets for the first time in this season. And with this win, Chennai leapfrogs to the third position in the standings.

OUT! TAKEN! Daryl Mitchell has been quite busy with those grabs. His fifth catch of the game! Mustafizur angles it on the pads, and keeps the length fuller, Shahbaz Ahmed swipes across aerially to clear the deep square leg fence but doesn't get the desired distance and finds Daryl Mitchell in the deep who takes another easy catch. Chennai just a solitary wicket away from a convincing win.
