Dale Steyn out of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, Beuran Hendricks will replace in the remainder of the tournament.
Steyn is fifth highest ODI wicket taker of all time in the history of South Africa, he had to withdrew himself from Indian Premier League(IPL) due to the shoulder issue and he has already missed two World Cup matches.
He had a surgery for the shoulder issue in year 2016. His team South Africa has started World Cup campaign with two losses one against the host team England and the other one against Bangladesh.
South Africa is due to play India on 5th of June, they have already lost Lungi Ngidi for the match after he suffered a hamstring injury and he is scheduled to be out for at least 10 days.
Dale Steyn will now be replaced by left-arm pacer Bueren Hendricks who made his One Day International against Pakistan this year in the month of January. In his One day international career he played 2 matches till now and has picked only 1 wicket.
Though his performance in ODI is very small he have a good record in the T20I cricket, in T20I he has picked up an amount of 16 wickets with the best figure of 4/14 against Pakistan in Centurion.
Hendricks has the ability to bowl with real pace, reaching 140kph at times, while also swinging the ball late. As a left armer he also offers some variation to the South African attack.
Still a long journey to go for South Africa and already they have suffered massive blows which makes their performance very poor and the chances of qualifying for Semi-Finals are now looking in vain.
