Saint Lucia Kings go on top for now. A comfortable win for them. It is time for Jamaica Tallawahs to take on Trinbago Knight Riders. That match will begin at 7.30 pm IST (2 pm GMT). Do join us for the build up. Till then, cheers!
Sikandar Raza says this group is hungry to win. Adds the score was good but not good enough, and he just wanted his opening bowlers to create some pressure and they did really well. Shares they had plans, there was gut feeling while bowling Primus and it worked out well for the team.
Rovman Powell says nothing really went well for them today. Adds the wicket did get better later on but they didn't bat well. Reckons after so many loses, they will sit down and come down with a new plan.
Johnson Charles wins the Player of the Match. He says they tried to control the Powerplay, they didn't want to lose any wickets early on. Adds they have a quality player in Munro and he says he tried to play deep today. Reckons with Faf du Plessis not available, he had to take the job in his own hands.
...Presentation coming up...
Saint Lucia Kings will be really happy with this performance. They couldn't have asked for a better performance. The top order and the lower order clicked well to Saint Lucia Kings to a massive score. On the bowling side, it was a combined performance. Alzarri Joseph scalped in two consecutive deliveries. Roshon Primus then got two in his first over. That just pushed Barbados Royals on the back foot and eventually, they just never recovered.
A nothing show really from the Royals. Powell often said about his bowling department not executing well but he has a new problem in their batting now. This has continued for a while. They were beaten in all-three departments today. Firstly, Barbados Royals leaked too many runs, their fielding wasn't best as well. In reply, they lost Mayers early on. There was a lengthy rain break but it didn't change the Royals' luck as they lost half of their side inside the Powerplay, Holder was the last hope but he too departed after all.
