Atheeq Rahman chipped in with a quickfire cameo of 31 runs but Ram Arvindh R was the man to watch as he scored the fastest half-century of the Tamil Nadu T20 League off just 22 deliveries. The Salem bowlers bowled well in the middle phase but failed to close out the innings well, and ended up with a mammoth total on the board for their batters to chase.
To be honest, there is nothing much to write about the Salem batters. They were under the pump from the word go. They were four wickets down inside the powerplay. Sunny Sandhu and Muhammed Adnan Khan tried their bit but just couldn't make a match up with the force of Kovai's bowlers.
Well, that was one-way traffic throughout the game. The Kovai bowlers never let the Salem batters settle in the game. They picked up a wicket whenever a good partnership was brewing. K Gowtham Thamarai Kannan was the pick of the bowlers for Kovai's side as he picked up three crucial wickets. Shahrukh Khan picked up two wickets for their side.
