Good news is coming for KKR fans. Brendon McCullum returns to KKR in IPL, which will be held in 2020. But this time McCullum will not do as a batsman but as a coach of the team. England World Cup winning coach Trevor Bayliss will join the team along with the experienced kiwi batsman Brendon McCullum.
Before that, Bayliss has already worked as KKR coach till 2011-2014. Meanwhile, in this period the KKR team won the IPL title twice. Once again in the 2020 IPL, he is ready to work as a KKR coach.
Let us tell you that after the Ashes series in August 2019, Bayliss will end the contract with the England Cricket Board. Bayliss has already made it clear that he will not renew his contract. At the same time, after not getting sold in the 2019 IPL auction, McCullum has decided to work as a coach of KKR.
Earlier we got the news that Jacques Kallis and Simon Katich has left the team and they are being replaced by a strong duo of Bayliss and McCullum. Brendon McCullum has played for KKR in 2008 in the 1st edition and he was the 1st player to score IPL hundred in the 1st match of IPL.
Bayliss has coached team Sri Lanka and helped them reach World Cup Final in the year 2011, he is also associated with the Big Bash League team Sydney Sixers.
More changes to place as the Knight Rider co-owner Jay Mehta and actress Juhi Chawla’s daughter Jhanvi will soon join the KKR set-up. As the Knight Rider are now looking to follow one of the successful teams of IPL, Mumbai Indians.
After next year’s IPL, every players contract of three year will end and there’s going to be a mega auction later that year, both Bayliss and McCullum will be looking to build a strong team after that.
Brendon McCullum is joining the team as a Batting coach and mentor so expect him to sit in the auction table this year as well as Trevor Bayliss.
