The International Cricket Council (ICC) banned all-rounder Shakib al Hasan from Bangladesh for two years, but he was sentenced to one year after Shakib confessed.
Bangladesh Cricket team captain Shakib al Hasan has been banned from all forms of cricket for two years, in violation of the ICC Anti-Corruption Code, the International Cricket Council said in a statement released on its website. Was later acknowledged by the batsman.
According to the ICC, Shakib al Hasan offered or contacted the Buckeyes or match-fixers on three occasions that he did not inform the ICC. According to the ICC, Shakib al Hasan failed to describe the Anti-Corruption Unit in full detail in any offer or invitation related to corruption in Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe in January 2018 and IPL 2018.

Speaking after the ban, Shakib al Hasan said that I am very sorry for the ban, the game was banned which I love very much, accept the ban imposed by the ICC, the ICC code. On off-duty violations, I assumed that I was not in violation of the law, but I made the mistake and I admit it.
He added that my fans all over the world love me and want to see cricket corruption-free, I will keep a close eye on the rules of the ICC in the future, participate in youth education programs so that No young player could make the same mistake as me.
ICC general manager Alex Marshall says I want to honestly say that Shakib Al Hasan is a world class player, he has participated in my academic session for the year, he has confessed to his mistake during the investigation.
