The Indian team management is looking for a proper fourth-position batsman. In such a situation, Shreyas Iyer has said that he is ready to bat at any place. Iyer, part of the Indian team that went on the West Indies tour, will have to face the challenge of players like Lokesh Rahul and Rishabh Pant in the next two ODIs on the tour.
When asked about the fourth position which has been a problem for India for quite some time, Iyer said that “we have no information. This is a completely management decision. I cannot go and say that I have to bat at number four and they keep me in this place. It’s not like this.”
India could not find a permanent batsman at number four during their journey to the World Cup and the search would continue in the remaining two matches of the three-match ODI series on the current tour. Iyer said in the press conference before the match that this place is empty and probably he will try to give his best to challenge all the players at this place.
