After a solid start on Day 1 for Afghanistan, they start the day 2 with their former captain Asghar Afgan batting on 88 runs, he was being supported by wicket-keeper batsman Afsar Zazai.
Afghanistan didn’t got the start they wanted as Asghar Afgan just managed to add 4 runs to his yesterday’s score when he got dismissed after scoring 92 runs missed his hundred by just 8 runs, Afsar Zazai also failed to convert his score into a massive score when Taijul Islam dismissed him and send him back to the pavilion.
But the story wasn’t over here, then comes Afghanistan captain and the youngest captain in Test cricket Rashid Khan, who we guess didn’t knew that it was a test match because he was playing like it was a ODI match, Rashid Khan took his team to comfortable position as he scored 51 runs in 61 balls smashing 3 sixes and 2 boundaries.
Afghanistan inning was then bowled out for 342 runs with the contribution from Rahmat Shah, Asghar Afgan, Afsar Zazai and Rashid Khan. Rahmat Shah became the 1st Afghanistan player to score hundred in test cricket representing their national team.
Bangladesh lead by Shakib sent out Shadman Islam and Soumya Sarkar to open the Bangla Tigers inning. Just like Afghanistan Bangladesh openers also failed to provide a initial start as Shadman made his way to the pavilion with 0 runs on his name while Sarkar scored 17 runs.
Liton Das and Mominul took control of the inning as the later scored a fifty while the former managed to score 33 runs as both not able convert it into a big score and both got out of Rashid and Nabi’s ball respectively.
Mossadek Hossain and Taijul Islam will continue for Bangladesh on day 3, Hossain batting at 44 while Taijul have scored 14 runs and helping his team to stay there.
After showing absolute destruction while batting, Rashid Khan went on to pick up 4 crucial wickets of Liton Das, Mahmudullah, Musfiqur Rahim and the Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan.
Mohammad Nabi also contributed in the bowling department as picked up 2 wickets, while 1 wicket each for Yamin Ahmadzai and Qais Ahmad.
