The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Monday granted focal contracts to 17 female cricketers for the main portion of 2019 in the wake of following an evaluation procedure in which the exhibitions over the most recent a half year of the earlier year were thought about. The examination procedure was finished by a four-part board of trustees containing Haroon Rashid (Director – Cricket Operations), Jalaluddin (Chair of the Selection Committee), Mark Coles (Head mentor – Pakistan ladies’ cricket group) and Asmavia Iqbal (Member – Pakistan ladies’ determination panel). As per the board, the agreements were granted after the settlement of every single exceptional installment from July-December 2018 period.
Top-positioned bowler Sana Mir and Pakistan’s most noteworthy positioned hitter (24th in the ICC rankings) Javeria Khan were held in the ‘A’ class alongside skipper Bismah Mahroof and Nahida Khan.
“It is dependably a matter of pride to be given a focal contract. I am certain our players are glad and anticipating doing their best in the coming months. Our point being to manufacture a fine group and seat quality, these agreements surely add to that reason,” Maroof said.
Fareeha Mehmood, Ghulam Fatima, Maham Tariq, and Rameen Shamin lost their agreements while 21-year-old best request player Omaima Sohail, who made her ODI make a big appearance in October 2018, was the main new face in the agreement list. Sidra Amin and Aliya Riaz were advanced from ‘D’ and ‘E’ classes while Muneeba Ali Siddique slipped from ‘C’ to ‘D’.
“I know the four players who have not been granted contracts will be disillusioned, but rather the new contracts are identified with exhibitions. I am certain that these players will keep on working harder to recover their places in the agreement list,” said Rashid. “The new contracts are progressively aggressive and further boost the best performing players. This is a piece of the PCB’s procedure to support and advance ladies’ cricket. The PCB will keep on putting resources into ladies’ cricket as we seek to be one of the best and reliable performing sides.”
Pakistan, positioned seventh in both one-day and T20I rankings, will go up against Windies and Bangladesh at home and South Africa in an away arrangement in the ICC Women’s Championship till July 31, 2019 – the date when the agreements terminate.
