IPL 2019 Transfer window now officially opened by Board Of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI) today on 31st of July.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 champions Mumbai Indians have made a big decision. Four-time Champion Mumbai, releasing Mayank Markande, in collaboration with Delhi Capitals, has added Sherfane Rutherford to their squad. Sherfane Rutherford is a all-rounder and he is known for his hard-hitting batting. While Mayank Markande will play alongside Iyer, Pant and Shaw for Delhi Capitals.
On release of Mayank Markande, the owner of Mumbai Indians Akash Ambani said, “We wish Mayank best wishes for his good future. He is a talented player. We are fortunate to had Mayank Markande. Releasing Mayank is a difficult decision, but we are releasing it for good cricket prospects. We know that Mayank is on the road to becoming a star of Indian cricket. Mayank will always be part of the Mumbai Indians family.”
Mayank Markande, who lived in Punjab, joined the Mumbai Indians team in 2018. In 2018, he picked up 15 wickets in 14 matches. In 2019, he played only 3 matches and he got one wicket. His economy rate was also 6.55.
Sherfane Rutherford debuted in this year’s IPL playing for Delhi Capitals, in which he scored 73 runs from 14 matches at an average of 14.60. He got only one wicket. Although Rutherford could not perform well in the IPL, he has the ability. He can turn the whole match by putting long-lasting sixes. In the Caribbean Premier League, he made 45 runs in 13 balls for Guyana to give them the game in the final.
