Right then, that's all from this game. The Pakistan Super League 2023 action continues on Monday, the 6th of March as Quetta Gladiators take on Karachi Kings. That game will begin at 7.30 pm IST (2.00 pm GMT). Until then, take care and goodbye!
Fazalhaq Farooqi (4-0-25-3) is the Player of the Match.
Having finished well in their batting effort,  Quetta Gladiators took the momentum into their bowling dismissing Rahmanullah Gurbaz early. They could not capitalise on that early scalp conceding 51 runs in the first four overs. They pulled things back with wickets in quick succession and got a firm grip on the game. However, they let it slip from thereon and the game tilted in favour of the opposition which meant, they emerged second best in this game. Earlier in the game, after being put into bat, Quetta Gladiators were off to a shaky start losing 4 wickets inside the Powerplay. Mohammad Nawaz and Najibullah Zadran then got together and forged a solid recovery. Towards the end, Umar Akmal played a brilliant cameo to help them end up with a challenging total. In the second half, their bowlers did put up a fight but it wasn't enough against the strong Islamabad United side.
What a game we have witnessed this evening and it is Islamabad United who get over the line with 3 balls to spare. With this win, they have secured themselves a spot in the playoffs. In their pursuit of 180, Islamabad United were dealt an early blow but Colin Munro got going straightaway and got them off to a flying start. However, Alex Hales' dismissal triggered a mini-collapse and in no time, half their side was back in the hut. Azam Khan and  Faheem Ashraf then steadied the ship and kept the scoreboard ticking. The duo stitched a 58-run stand to put their side in a commanding position. After the departure of Azam Khan, Faheem Ashraf provided the finishing touches in the final over to get his side over the line.
