Team news
Ireland Team News
Gary Wilson had come to this tournament as one of the favorites as considered by betting sites. After registering a comfortable win against Hong Kong in their opening game the side went down against hosts United Arab Emirates in their last game by 5 wickets.
Their batsmen failed in the game and will need to come up with better performance in the next one. The bowlers did a decent job but never really had run on the board to defend. They are up against a team in good form in the next game and shall have to play better cricket to win this one.
Paul Stirling was brilliant with the bat in the last game continuing with his good form but there was hardly any support from the other end. His opening partner Kevin O’Brien will look to do well in the next game.
The middle order is strong for the side with Andrew Balbirine, Harry Tector and Gary Wilson having vast experience. Mark Adair and Gareth Delany will need to use the long handle well towards the end of the innings.
In the bowling department, Boyd Rankin and Adair are looking good. The likes of Shane Getkate, David Delany and George Dockrell will have to stop the flow of runs in the next game.
Oman Team News
Zeeshan Maqsood’s side has done well so far in the tournament. They started the campaign with a win against the United Arab Emirates and followed this up with a win in the last game against Oman.
They bowled extremely well in the last game and chased down the score clinically to register a 7 wicket win in the game.
The side would now face a big challenge against Ireland who has experienced T20 players in their squad. The team would look to put up their best foot forward in the next game.
Batting order looks strong with Jatinder Singh and Khawar Ali having provided a good start to the side in the last game and now they would look to make big scores in the next game.
Aqib Ilyas and Aamir Kaleem have looked in good form so far and so has skipper Zeeshan Maqsood. Suraj Kumar and Sandeep Goud add to the batting line-up and shall look to do well in the next game.
The bowlers look in good form especially Aamir Kaleem and Khawar Ali. Bilal Khan is also bowling well at the top with the new ball and shall look to pick early wickets in the next game.
