IPL: Former South African veteran and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) head coach Jacques Kallis has resigned. On Sunday 14 July, the KKR team himself announced that Jacques Kallis along with other support staff have also said goodbye to the franchise.
Apart from Jacques Kallis, assistant coach Simon Katich has also resigned from his post. Jacques Kallis, former South African all-rounder, added as a player to KKR in the year 2011. After playing some years, later on he became head coach of the team. He was with the team for 9 years.
Jacques Kallis made 400 runs and took 15 wickets to help the team become the IPL champions. In the captaincy of Gautam Gambhir in 2012, the team defeated CSK in the final. Two years later, KKR became a champion once again. But, Jacques Kallis joined the franchisee as batting consultant in the year 2015.
KKR CEO Venky Mysore has praised Jacques Kallis support and said he would be an important part of the KKR family. On the other hand, Jacques Kallis has said he is saying goodbye to KKR for a new opportunity. They are grateful to the player team owner and management.
CEO Venky Mysore wants to expand the Knight Rider brand in other countries leagues too just like they joined forces with CPL team Trinbago to become Trinbago Knight Riders, Simon Katich has been also removed from TKR (Trinbago Knight Riders) team, TKR has won CPL 2 times in a row in 2017 and 2018.
KKR Team has not yet announced replacements for all the staff members who are leaving the team, everyone would be excited to know who will join KKR as new head coach in the upcoming times.
