Bangladesh have not included off-spinner Mehidy Hasan and fast bowler Rubel Hossain in the squad for the first two games of the tri-series against Afghanistan and Zimbabwe. All-rounder Ariful Haque, pacer Abu Hider, spinner Nazmul Islam and batsman Mohammad Mithun have also been dropped from the T20 squad.
Tamim Iqbal, who is seeking a break from international cricket, is also not a part of the team. Chief selector Minhajul Abedin said, “We wanted to test some players before the next T20 World Cup. That is why we have changed the team. Young fast bowler Yasin Arafat and left-arm spinner Taijul Islam have been included in the team for the first time.”
Rubel Hossain, Ariful Haq, Najmul Islam, Abu Jayed and Abu Haider don’t find a place in the roster.
