Afghanistan is touring Bangladesh to play the only test match before both the teams will be joined by the Zimbabwe team to play the Tri-Nation series which will also be hosted by the Bangla Tigers.
The one and only test match day 1 was played on 5th of September and the match will continue till September 9.
The newly crowned Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan won the toss and decided that his team will bat first against host
Ibrahim Zadran and Ihsanulla Janat opened the Afghanistan inning, Ibrahim scored more runs compared to his opening partner as he scored 21 runs while Janat scored only 9 runs and both were dismissed by Taijul Islam.
But after that Rahmat Shah took control of the inning, and he scored a brilliant hundred before was dismissed by Nayeem Hasan for a well made 102 runs but it was not over yet as former captain Asghar Afgan scored 88 runs, at the end of the day he remained not out and will continue from where he left off today. He will be partnered by Afsar Zazai who scored 35 runs and still on the crease.
Bangladesh bowler Taijul Islam and Nayeem Hasan picked up 2 wickets a piece while 1 wicket for Mahmudullah when he dismissed Shahidi.
Bangladesh will be looking to start stronger on day 2 and will be looking to send Afgan back to pavilion as soon as possible, also Zazai.
